 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
about the Town of Merton

  1. Township is Zoned. Building Permits are required. (See Building Inspection Page)  
  2. Zoning Permits are Required from Waukesha County if property is in Shoreland Jurisdiction.
  3. Firearm ordinances are in effect. Restricted hunting. Hunting is prohibited on Town of Merton Land.
  4. Dog Licenses are required in the Town.
  5. Burning permits are required. Contact the appropriate fire Chief.
  6. All lakes have boating regulations as to skiing and speed limits. Check with the Water Safety Officer or Lake Management District's for the Lake in Question.
  7. Trash pickup is privately contracted or you may use the Transfer Station, opened on Saturdays..
  8. No unlicensed vehicles my be stored outside.
