Town of Merton is Located in the North Central Section of Waukesha County.

The Town Provides to its Citizens Highway Maintenance, Fire Protection,Hartland, Merton, North Lake and Stone Bank, a contract with the Waukesha Sheriff's Department, Ambulance Service through Hartland, Merton & Stone Bank Fire Departments, Library services, and Recycling Center/Transfer Station. The Town of Merton is one of the most complex municipalities in Waukesha County with 8 elementary schools, 2 union high schools, a K-8 school district, 4 different fire districts, 3 ambulance districts and 8 different tax rate depending on the elementary school district.

The Town also has three Lake Management Districts, and two Lake Associations. .
There are 84 miles of town roads, 9 wards and two polling places, to serve almost 6,300 registered voters and a population of 8,476
