Town of Merton is Located in the North Central Section of Waukesha Counrty.

The Town Provides to its Citizens Highway Maintenance, Fire Protection, a contract with the Waukesha Sheriff's Department, Ambulance Service through Hartland, Merton & Stone Bank Fire Departments, Library services, and Recycling Center/Transfer Station. The Town of Merton is one of the most complex munipalities in Waukesha County. We have 8 different elementary schools, 2 union high schools, a K-8 school district, 4 different fire districts, 3 ambulance districts and 8 different tax rate depending on  the elementary school district. We also have three Lake Management Districts, and one Lake Association. We have 84miles of town roads, 9 wards and two polling places, to serve almost 6,300 registered voters and a gross population of 8,420.
