Community Development & Planning

The Town Planner is responsible for professional and administrative duties related to managing the Department of Planning and Development including planning, zoning and economic development, and redevelopment activities.  Principal duties include monitoring and implementing the Comprehensive Plan through zoning, conditional use permits, plans of operation, and changes to the Town Land Use Plan.  In addition the Planner works with developers on new Subdivisions, Storm Water Management plans, Certified Survey Maps, development of the Town parks, use of the Parks Development Loan Program.

The Town Planner works in tandem with the activities of the Building Inspection Department, Highway/Public Works,  Office Staff,  Town Attorney and various professional contract services.  The Planner serves as the liaison for the Town with other communities, extraterritorial matters, Waukesha County Parks and Land Use, Wisconsin State Departments, multiple committees and land use groups.

The Planner works with residents and land owners for compliance on zoning and planning concerns:

  • Ordinance
  • Zoning compliance – Chapter 17
  • Plans of Operation – new and existing businesses
  • Land Divisions – Chapter 18
  • Subdivision Developments and Certified Survey Maps
